1. Introduction

Note: Сlick the “Save Changes” button in order to apply any changes.  

1.1. Open your WordPress Admin Dashboard and find the menu on the left.

1.2. Go to the “PromoBar” > Settings on the dashboard.

1.3. The “Settings” page will open.

2. Settings

Use the options of the “Settings” page to make the global settings for the plugin.

2.1. Promobar

Use the options of the “Promobar Settings” tab to customize the appearance of promo bar on posts and pages.

2.1.1. Promobar Option

Enable the “Promobar” option to display a promo bar.

2.1.2. Display Promobar

Use the “Display Promobar” option to choose where the promo bar should be displayed.

2.1.2.1. Choose the “on selected pages” to display the promo bar on the pages which are enabled on the “Display” tab. Click on the “Manage” link to enable the necessary pages.

2.1.2.2. The promo bar may look on a page as follows.

2.1.2.3. Choose the “on the homepage” to display the promo bar on the homepage.

2.1.2.4. The promo bar on the homepage may look as follows.

2.1.2.5. Choose the “display via shortcode or function only” to display a promo bar only if the shortcode or function is inserted into a page. Available shortcode and function are displayed on the right on the “Settings” page.

2.1.2.6. The promo bar inserted on a page via a shortcode may look as follows.

2.1.3. Display on

Use the “Display on” to enable the promo bar for a different website version.

2.1.3.1. The promo bar on the “Desktop” version may look as follows.

2.1.3.2. The promo bar on the “Tablet” version may look as follows.

2.1.3.3. The promo bar on the “Mobile” version may look as follows.

2.1.4. Close Icon

Enable the “Close Icon” option to display a close/dismiss icon on the promo bar.

2.1.4.1. “Close Icon” on the promo bar may look as follows.

2.1.5. Position

Use the “Position” option to choose the position for the promo bar while scrolling the page.

2.1.5.1. Choose “absolute” to pin the promo bar to its position.

2.1.5.2. Choose “fixed” in order to promo bar follows page while scrolling.

2.1.6. Alignment

Use the “Alignment” option to choose a side to display the promo bar, separately for different versions (Desktop, Mobile, Tablet).

2.1.6.1. Choose “Top” to display the promo bar at the top of the page.

2.1.6.2. The promo bar at the top position may look on a page as follows.

2.1.6.3. Choose “Bottom” to display the promo bar at the bottom of the page.

2.1.6.4. The promo bar at the bottom position may look on a page as follows.

2.1.6.5. Choose “Left” to display the promo bar on the left side of the page. Change the width of the promo bar in pixels (px) or percent of the page (%).

2.1.6.6. The promo bar on the left side position may look on a page as follows.

2.1.6.7. Choose “Right” to display the promo bar on the right side of the page. Change the width of the promo bar in pixels (px) or percent of the page (%).

2.1.7. Background

Use the “Background” option to choose the background type for the promo bar.

2.1.7.1. Choose “Transparent” to make the background match the theme color or image.

2.1.7.2. “Transparent” promo bar background type may look on a page as follows.

2.1.7.3. Choose “Color” to set the background color by means of the color-picker tool.

2.1.7.5. Choose “Image” to select a picture for the promo bar background.

2.1.7.6. Click the “Add Media” button to select a picture from the “Media Library”.

2.1.8. Text color

Use the “Text color” option to set the color of the text in the promo bar by means of the color-picker tool.

2.1.8.1. The promo bar text with custom color may look on a page as follows.

2.1.9. HTML

Use the “HTML” option to fill the promo bar with all the necessary information.

2.1.9.1. Click the “Add Media” button to select a picture that may be displayed in promo bar from the “Media Library”.

2.1.9.3. Change the promo bar editing display by selecting the “Visual” or “Text” tab.

2.2. Countdown

Use the options of the “Countdown” section to customize the appearance of the countdown banner on posts and pages.

2.2.1. Show Countdown Timer

Enable the “Show Countdown Timer” option to display a countdown timer.

Note: The minimum display width for countdown timer is 450px.

2.2.1.1. The countdown timer may look on a page as follows.

2.2.2. Close Icon

Enable the “Close Icon” option to display a close/dismiss icon on the countdown banner.

2.2.2.1. “Close Icon” on the countdown banner may look on a page as follows.

2.2.3. Preliminary Period Starts on

Use the “Preliminary Period Starts on” option to set the date to which the countdown will start.

2.2.4. Discount Starts on

Use the “Discount Starts on” option to set the date from which the countdown will begin. The countdown will end to the date set in the “Discount Ends on” option.

2.2.5. Discount Ends on

Use the “Discount Ends on” to set the date the countdown ends.

2.2.6. Background

Use the “Background” option to choose the background type for the countdown banner.

2.1.6.1. Choose “Transparent” to make the background match the theme color or image.

2.2.6.2. “Transparent” countdown banner background will look on a page as follows.

2.2.6.3. Choose “Color” to set the countdown banner background color by means of the color-picker tool.

2.2.6.4. The countdown banner background with custom color may look on a page as follows.

2.2.6.5. Choose “Image” to select a picture for the countdown banner background.

2.2.6.6. Click the “Add Media” button to select a picture from the “Media Library”.

2.2.6.7. The countdown banner with an “Image” background may look on a page as follows.

2.2.7. Text Color

Use the “Text Color” option to set the color of the text in the countdown banner by means of the color-picker tool.

2.1.7.1. The countdown banner custom-colored text may look on a page as follows.

2.2.8. Parent Selector Class/ID

Use the “Parent Selector Class/ID” option to enter the class/id of the parent selector where you want to insert the countdown.

2.2.8.1. Select the “Preliminary Period” or the “Discount Period” tab to enter the necessary information that will display in the countdown banner.

2.2.8.2. There are two fields for entering information: For a homepage and for other pages. Enter the information for each one of them.

2.2.8.3. Customized countdown heading on the homepage may look as follows.

2.2.8.4. Customized countdown heading on the other pages may look as follows.

2.1.8.5. Click the “Add Media” button to select a picture that will be displayed in the countdown banner from the “Media Library”.

2.1.8.6. The countdown banner with the added picture may look on a page as follows.

2.1.8.7. Change the way to edit the countdown banner information by selecting the “Visual” or “Text” tab.

3. Display Settings

Use the options of the “Display Settings” tab to choose the necessary post types (or single pages) where “PromoBar” will be displayed.

3.1. Show URL

Enable the “Show URL” in the “Display Settings” to show the URL of each post and page in the tree below.

3.2. Display Settings Tree

Enable the necessary post types (or single pages) where “PromoBar” will be displayed in the “Display Settings” tree.

4. Miscellaneous Settings

Use the options of the “Miscellaneous Settings” tab to make the settings regarding the track usage and default settings.

4.1. Track Usage

Enable the “Track Usage” option to allow tracking plugin usage anonymously.

4.2. Default Settings

Click the “Restore Settings button to reset all the settings made previously and revert them to the default ones. 

4.2.1. Click “Yes, restore all settings” button to confirm the procedure.

5. Custom Code

Use the “Custom Code” tab to insert a CSS, PHP or JavaScript code. To activate the inserted code, enable the “Activate custom … code” option and save changes.

6. License Key

Use the “License Key” tab to activate or check the Pro plugin license.

6.1. Promobar Pro License

After a successful plugin purchase, you will receive an email notification with a download link and a license key. Activate Pro license by pasting a license key into the “Promobar Pro License” field and clicking the “Save Changes” button.

6.2. Check License Key

To check the license key, click the “Check license key” button. If the entered key is correct, the notification “The license key is valid. Your license will expire on XXXX-XX-XX” will be displayed in the upper left corner of the page.

6.3. Manage License Settings

Use the “Manage License Settings” option to change your license settings. Click the “Login to Client Area” button to open your personal Client Area dashboard located on the https://bestwebsoft.com/ website. Browse and download purchased products, change the license domain and copy the license keys.
