1. Introduction

Note: Сlick the “Save Changes” button in order to apply any changes.

Note: Contact Form to DB plugin is an exclusive add-on to the Contact Form and Contact Form 7 plugins and it will not work without one of it.

1.1. Open your WordPress Admin Dashboard and find the menu on the left.

1.2. Open the “Contact Form to DB” > “Settings” page on the dashboard.

2. Settings

Use the options of the “Settings” page to make the global settings for the plugin.

2.1. Save Messages to Database

Enable the “Save Messages to Database” option to activate message saving and display other options.

2.2. Save Attachments

Use the “Save Attachments” options to enable saving attachment files from the contact form and choose the place to save those files.

2.2.1. Choose the “Save attachments to database” to save attachment files directly to the “CF to DB” directory.

2.2.2. Choose the “Save attachments to "Uploads"” to save attachment files in the “Uploads” directory of your WordPress installation.

2.3. Download Messages in

Use the “Download Messages in” option to select the format of downloaded messages. Available formats are .xml, .eml, .csv.

2.4. Re-Send a Message to the Email Address Specified in Contact Form Settings

Use the “Re-Send a Message to the Email Address Specified in Contact Form Settings” to make the appropriate action. If the option is disabled, all messages will be sent to the email address which was valid at the time of the message receipt.

2.5. Periodically Delete Old Messages

Use the “Periodically Delete Old Messages” option to enable deleting messages from the database and specify the message deletion period.

2.5.1. Specify the message deletion period in the dropdown menu.

3. Miscellaneous Settings

Use the options of the “Miscellaneous Settings” tab to make the settings regarding the track usage and default settings.

3.1. Track Usage

Enable the “Track Usage” option to allow tracking plugin usage anonymously.

3.2. Default Settings

Click the “Restore Settings button to reset all the settings made previously and revert them to the default ones.


4. License Key

Use the “License Key” tab to activate or check the Pro plugin license.

4.1. Pro License

After a successful plugin purchase, you will receive an email notification with a download link and a license key. Activate Pro license by pasting a license key into the “Contact Form to DB Pro License” field and clicking the “Save Changes” button.


4.2. Check License Key

To check the license key, click the “Check license key” button. If the entered key is correct, the notification “The license key is valid. Your license will expire on XXXX-XX-XX” will be displayed in the upper left corner of the page.

4.3.  Manage License Settings

Use the “Manage License Settings” option to change your license settings. Click the “Login to Client Area” button to open your personal Client Area dashboard located on the https://bestwebsoft.com/ website. Browse and download purchased products, change the license domain and copy the license keys.

5. CF to DB

Use the “CF to DB” page to manage the messages received from the Contact Form by BestWebSoft in the database.

5.1. Table Tabs

Use the tabs of CF to DB page to display different types of messages.

5.1.1. The “All” tab displays messages that are not spam or are not in the trash to be deleted later. This filter is set by default when entering the page.

5.1.2. The "Sent" tab displays successfully sent messages that are not spam or are not in the trash to be deleted later.

5.1.3. The "Not sent" tab displays all the messages that failed to be sent and that are not spam or are not in the trash to be deleted later.

5.1.4. The  "Read" tab displays all read messages that are not spam or are not in the trash to be deleted later.

5.1.5. The "Unread" tab displays all unread messages that are not spam or are not in the trash to be deleted later.

5.1.6. The "Has attachment" tab displays all the messages having attachments that are not spam or are not in the trash to be deleted later.

5.1.7. The "Spam" tab displays all the messages marked as spam.

Note: The Contact Form to DB plugin does not provide automatic messages marking as "Spam". This marking is up to you.

5.1.8. The "Trash" tab displays all the messages to be deleted later.

5.2. CF to DB Table

Use the “CF to DB” table to make actions to the messages in the database.

5.2.1. Use the “Bulk actions” to apply action to multiple messages. Select the necessary action and click the “Apply” button.

5.2.2. Click on the name in the “From” column to expand the message and display additional info.

5.2.3. Click the “Download” on the image hover to save an attached image on a local PC.

5.2.4.  Click the “View” on the image hover to display the attached image in fullscreen.

5.2.5. Click the “Re-send Message” to re-send a message to the recipient’s email address.

5.2.6. Click the “Download Message” to save a message on a local PC in the following formats: csv, xml, eml. The format can be selected on the plugin settings page.

5.2.7. Click the “Spam” to mark a message as spam.

5.2.8. Click the “Trash” to mark a message that will be deleted later.

5.2.9. Click the “Not Spam” to mark a spam-message as not spam.

5.2.10. Click the “Delete Permanently” to completely delete the information about the message from the database.

5.2.11. Click the “Restore” to remove a message from the list of messages to be deleted later.

6. CF7 to DB

Use the “CF to DB” page to manage the messages received from the Contact Form 7 in the database.

6.1. Table Tabs

Use the tabs of CF7 to DB page to display different types of messages.

6.1.1. The “All” tab displays messages that are not spam or are not in the trash to be deleted later. This filter is set by default when entering the page.

6.1.2. The "Spam" tab displays all the messages marked as spam.

Note: The Contact Form to DB plugin does not provide automatic messages marking as "Spam". This marking is up to you.

6.1.3. The "Trash" tab displays all the messages to be deleted later.

6.2. CF7 to DB Table

Use the “CF7 to DB” table to make actions to the messages in the database.
