1. Introduction
Note: Сlick the “Save Changes” button in order to apply any changes. |
1.1. Open your WordPress Admin Dashboard and find the menu on the left.
1.2. Open the ”Twitter” > “Settings” page.
2. Settings
Use the options of the “Settings” page to make the global settings for the plugin.
2.1. General
Use the options of the “General” section to bring changes to the appearance and functionality of buttons.
2.1.1. Buttons
Use the “Buttons” option to choose which Twitter buttons to display on your pages or posts.
Note: Chosen buttons will display automatically. By using a shortcode on the page that is Enabled in “DIsplay” it will double the buttons on the page. |
2.1.1.1. After saving changes the Twitter buttons will look on a page as follows.
2.1.2. Buttons Size
Use the “Buttons Size” option to choose the size of twitter buttons.
2.1.2.1. Choose “Small” to display small size buttons.
2.1.2.2. Small buttons will look on a page as follows.
2.1.2.3. Choose “Large” to display large size buttons.
2.1.2.4. Large buttons will look on a page as follows.
2.1.3. Buttons Position
Use the “Buttons Position” option to select the position of Twitter buttons on a page or post.
2.1.3.1. Enable the “Before content” to display the Twitter buttons before the text block.
2.1.3.2. After saving changes the Twitter buttons before content will look on a page as follows.
2.1.3.3. Enable the “After content” to display the Twitter buttons after the text block.
2.1.3.4. After saving changes the Twitter buttons after content will look on a page as follows.
2.1.4. Language
Use the “Language” option to set the automatic language for twitter buttons or choose the language from the list.
2.1.4.1. Enable the “Automatic” to change the twitter buttons’ language automatically.
2.1.4.2. Disable the “Automatic” to choose the necessary language from the dropdown.
2.1.5. Twitter Tailoring
Enable the “Twitter Tailoring” option to personalize the Twitter timeline.
2.2. Twitter Timeline
Use the options of the “Twitter Timeline” section to change the visual and functional aspects of the timeline.
2.2.1. Twitter URL
Use the “Twitter URL” option to enter the URL in order to display a desirable timeline.
2.2.1.1. Twitter timeline will look on a page as follows.
2.2.2. Number Of Tweets
Use the “Number Of Tweets” option to set the number of tweets that will be displayed on the timeline.
2.2.2.1. Twitter timeline with the number of tweets set to 1 will look as follows.
2.2.3. Theme
Use the “Theme” option to select between the “Dark” and “Light” themes of the timeline.
2.2.3.1. Select the “Light” theme to display the timeline as follows.
2.2.3.2. Select the “Dark” theme to display the timeline as follows.
2.2.4. Language
Use the “Language” option to select the language of Twitter`s timeline. English is set as default.
2.2.4.1. Select the necessary language from the dropdown menu.
2.2.5. Height
Use the “Height” option to set a fixed height of the timeline.
2.2.5.1. Twitters timeline with customized height may look on a page as follows.
2.2.6. Width
Use the “Width” option to set the maximum width of the timeline block. Leaving it 0 will automatically determine the width.

2.2.7. Design Elements
Use the “Design Elements” option to enable additional options to visually modify the timeline.

2.2.8. Border Color
Use the “Border color” option to set the color of borders inside of the timeline block.
2.2.8.1. Timeline block with customized borders color may look on a page as follows.
2.2.9. Link color
Use the “Link color” option to set the color of links, including hashtags and @mentions, inside each Tweet.
2.2.9.1. Choose the “Link Color” to display the links as follows.
2.3. Tweet Button
Use the “Tweet Button” section to change the visual and functional aspects of the “Tweet” button.
2.3.1. Share URL
Use the “Share URL” option to choose the URL of which page to share while tweeting.
2.3.1.1. By choosing the “Current page” the current page's URL will be shared.
2.3.1.2. By choosing the “Home page” the Home page URL will be shared.
2.3.2. Tweet Text
Use the “Tweet Text” option to choose what title will be displayed for the“Tweet” button.
2.3.2.1. Choose the “Current page title” to display the title of the current page.
2.3.2.2. Current page title may look on twitter as follows.
2.3.2.3. Choose the “Custom” to display the preferred custom title.
2.3.2.4. Custom title may look on twitter as follows.
2.3.3. Via
Use the “Via” option to enter the username for the “Tweet” button.
2.3.3.1. Custom via parameter may look on twitter as follows.
2.3.4. Recommend
Use the “Recommend” option to enter the usernames of someone recommended.
2.3.5. Hashtag
Use the “Hashtag” option to enter hashtags for the tweets.
2.3.5.1. Hashtags may look on twitter as follows.
2.4. Follow Button
Use the “Follow Button” section to customize the visual aspects of the “Follow” button.
2.4.1. Twitter Username
Use the “Twitter Username” option to enter and display the username established on the account.
2.4.2. Follow Button Image
Use the “Follow Button Image” option to select default or add a custom “Follow” button image.
2.4.2.1. Choose the ”Default” to display the original image of the button.
2.4.2.2. Choose the “Custom” to display preferred files.
2.4.2.3. Click the “Choose File” button to upload the image from your PC.
2.4.2.4. Custom follow button may look on a page as follows.
2.4.3. Show Follow Button
Use the “Show Follow Button” option in order to select what will be displayed near the follow button.
2.4.3.1. Enable “Username” to display the follow button as follows.
2.4.3.2. Enable the “Count” to display the follow button as follows.
2.5. Hashtag Button
Use the options of the “Hashtag Button” section to customize the visual aspects of the button.
2.5.1. Hashtag
Use the “Hashtag” option to display your own hashtags for the tweets.
2.5.2. Share URL
Use the “Share URL” option to choose which URL will be shared.
2.5.2.1. By choosing the “None” the tweet will be shown without a URL.
2.5.2.2. By choosing the “Current page” the current page's URL will be shared.
2.5.2.3. By choosing the “Home page” the Home page URL will be shared.
2.5.3. Tweet Text
Use the “Tweet Text” option to select what title will be displayed for the “Hashtag” button.
2.5.3.1. Choose the “Current page title” to display the title of the current page.
2.5.3.2. Current page title may look on twitter as follows.
2.5.3.3. Choose the “Custom” to display the preferred custom title.

2.5.4. Recommended
Use the “Recommended” option to enter and display the usernames of someone recommended.
2.6. Mention Button
Use the options of the “Mention Button” section to customize the visual aspects of the button.
2.6.1. Tweet to
Use the “Tweet to” option to enter and display the usernames of someone to mention.
2.6.2. Tweet Text
Use the “Tweet Text” option to select what title will be displayed for the “Mention” button.
2.6.2.1. Choose the “Current page title” to display the title of the current page.
2.6.2.2. Current page title may look on twitter as follows.
2.6.2.3. Choose the “Custom” to display the preferred custom title.
2.6.2.4. Custom title may look on twitter as follows.
2.6.3. Recommended
Use the “Recommended” option to enter and display the usernames of someone recommended.
3. Display Settings
Note: Chosen buttons will display automatically. By using a shortcode on the page that is Enabled in “DIsplay” it will double the buttons on the page. |
Use the options of the “Display Settings” tab to choose the necessary post types (or single pages) where Twitter buttons and timeline buttons will be displayed.
3.1. Show URL
Enable the “Show URL” in the “Display Settings” to show the URL of each post and page in the list below.
4. Miscellaneous Settings
Use the options of the “Miscellaneous Settings” tab to make the settings regarding the track usage and default settings.
4.1. Track Usage
Enable the “Track Usage” option to allow tracking plugin usage anonymously.
4.2. Default Settings
Click the “Restore Settings” button to reset all the settings made previously and revert them to the default ones.
5. Custom Code
Use the “Custom Code” tab to insert a CSS, PHP or JavaScript code. To activate a custom code, enable the “Activate custom … code” option and save changes.
6. License Key
Use the “License Key” tab to activate or check the Pro plugin license.
6.1. BestwebSoft`s Twitter Pro License
After a successful plugin purchase, you will receive an email notification with a download link and a license key. Activate Pro license by pasting a license key into the “BestwebSoft`s Twitter Pro License” field and clicking the “Save Changes” button.
6.2. Check License Key
To check the license key, click the “Check license key” button. If the entered key is correct, the notification “The license key is valid. Your license will expire on XXXX-XX-XX” will be displayed in the upper left corner of the page.
6.3. Manage License Settings
Use the “Manage License Settings” option to change your license settings. Click the “Login to Client Area” button to open your personal Client Area dashboard located on the https://bestwebsoft.com/ website. Browse and download purchased products, change the license domain and copy the license keys.
7. Shortcode
Add the Twitter button(-s) to your posts, pages, custom post types, or widgets by using the shortcode. Copy the necessary shortcode from the “Twitter” > “Settings” page.
7.1. Click the “Posts” / “Pages” > “Add new” to create a new post or a page or open the existing one in the “Edit” mode.
7.2. Insert copied earlier shortcode to the necessary place of page or post.
7.3. Click “Publish...” and then “Preview” buttons in order to see the page or post.
7.4. In the preview timeline will look on a page as follows.
7.5. Twitter buttons will look on a page as follows.
